Summer to Fall

Summer to Fall Clothes

Late Summer and Early Fall Outfits

Getting those fall vibes in late summer can be as easy as wearing your summer clothes in fall colors. Think neutrals, mustard, pumpkin, olive, navy and burgundy. Summer clothes include shorts, too! Utility shorts come in fall colors as well as dark wash denim to give a nod to the changing seasons. If pants are more your vibe, go for lightweight fabrics or breathable fibers (cotton, modal, viscose). Here are some of our favorite combos:

How to Layer Clothes

If you’re wondering how to make summer clothes work for fall, here’s a hint: layering.

Lightweight jackets and hoodies are a no-brainer, but while it’s still fairly hot out, you may want a bit more flexibility. A sweatshirt or sweater around your shoulders makes for an instant on-trend vibe and it’s so easy to cozy up once the temps dip. Adding a button-up shirt to your look both elevates your look and gives you so many style options: buttoned, unbuttoned, partially buttoned, half tucked, tied at the waist, sleeves rolled – so easy to let your personality shine!

Key Pieces for Summer to Fall Outfits

Now that you’ve got layering on lockdown, let’s get into some of the key pieces you’ll want to be layering with:

  • Breathable joggers. Knit joggers with cotton, viscose and modal fibers give great coverage without letting you overheat.
  • Cropped pants. Whether they are cropped jeans or wide leg trousers, shorter styles keep things easy-breezy.
  • Lightweight layers. A plaid button-up shirt will always give “fall”, but hoodies and utility jackets are also ideal.
  • Tank tops. Tanks are the easiest to layer under your lightweight pieces since there are no sleeves to add bulk.
